Well! the combined influence 160 of of 166 Members of the parliament, all the main political parties, the trade unions, the church, the employers federation and the vast majority of the press couldn't sell the Irish people the Lisbon treaty! Its fantastic! We have refuesd to be bullied into voting a treaty that puts us a step further towards a European super state and increased privatization of public services. Not to mention the army they want to build. What we need now is a realisation from Brussels that this treaty had it been voted on anywhere else in Europe it would have been rejected too. Ratification must stop in the remaining states and we should embark on 6-12 months of proper open public debate on what kind of Europe we want to live in.

Its been ages and ages since I posted here. Its not like I been busy or anything, I just been lazy and unmotivated. For the past month or so at work I have been in the new SDS department which makes sure all the lab machines are up to date with patches and everything complies with IBM policies, we are also the 1st stop for anybody with an IT problem. I was asked to help out the other guy for a month with a view to moving to this department permanently. If I do my boss will find it much easier to correct my salary upwards which is always good. Its so much quieter here than deployment, we spent 3 weeks tracking down all the computers in the building and who was responsibile for them and running things on them.. Seems so much easier than trying to set up a machine in Chinese and install some stupid non working software onto it!

Anyways enough aboot work, today at 5:30 I leave the office and get into my girlfriends car and we drive to Howth to meet Henrik our friend from Sweden who is over for St. Patricks day. He arrives at 4:30 this afternoon and my friend is collecting him and taking him there. He staying with us and on Sunday my mate Sven arrives from Germany also for Paddys day. Lots of binge drinking is going to happen oh yeah!!
